Gas is a wonderful tool. It cooks our food & keeps us warm at night, but like anything else it has to be treated with respect. If you smell gas call the NATIONAL GAS EMERGENCY SERVICES ON (freephone) 0800 111 999.
Also do the following things for yours & others safety
- DO NOT use any naked flame or switch any electrical items on. Make sure your cooker is turned off. NO SMOKING yes that means you.
- Open all doors and windows to ventilate the areas effected.
- Turn the gas off at the meter. If you are not sure where the meter is ask your landlord or gas supplier.
- Evacuate if Necessary. If you are in an area that can not be ventilated like a basement or cellar, evacuate everyone from the building immediately. If the smell is over powering you may also wish to wait outside.
- Tell the neighbors if you think they may also be effected also. It's better to be safe than sorry.
- For repairs and re-connections please call us as a priority.
